Consciousness is an independent witness within us. It is the state of being awake and aware. All of our life is occurring in our consciousness. With consciousness we are perceiving everything. Everything is reporting to consciousness.
For decades some scientists around the world have conducted consciousness researches that provide a different picture. The evidence of this researches present suggest that the brain alone does not produce the consciousness, but rather the source and locus of the consciousness in non-material.
Most western scientists assume that the consciousness is produced by the brain. Brain is evolved in thinking perception, memory but it is not suggested that the brain is not producing those thoughts. All of the studies showing that thoughts and memories take place in consciousness somewhere separated from the brain perceived and processed in the specific areas in the brain.
It is similar like a radio or telephone…we are listening to the sound, but the signal is created somewhere else.
In a similar way, the brain creates the images, thoughts, feelings and other experiences of which we are aware, but awareness itself is already present.
Consciousness in its purity is without Thought.
Whatever you see mountain, river, forest, birds, man and anything that you see – you are conscious of it. YOU see the sun, moon, time, day and night from the consciousness, because you are conscious when is day when is night, this is the moon this is the sun and anything…mountains and rivers they are in space so this space and time derive their existence from the consciousness alone.
There is nothing that is outside of the consciousness. And this consciousness is omnipresent and exists in the all atoms of the Universe.
When we go from the waking state to the sleep state, we lose everything. What we held onto during the waking state – our relationships with people, our relations – all this will leave. When we enter into the sleep state, we have lost everything. At that time we have no fear.
In the dreaming state also the world is seen. Even when you are leaving the waking state, senses are functioning in the dream also…when the rain falls it feels wet, you feel thirst in the dream, you feel hunger and you are looking for food. All the elements are there in the dream. And something is aware of all of it something that is beyond the senses and that’s our consciousness.
Consciousness is like the light in a film projector. The film needs the light in order for an image to appear, but it does not create the light.
Existence or Consciousness is the only reality. Consciousness plus waking we call waking. Consciousness plus sleep we call sleep. Consciousness plus dream, we call dream. All of these states are parts of the ever present Consciousness that appears as witness within us or the sense of the feeling ”I am” or ”I exist”. Consciousness also is witnessing our thoughts, feelings, perception, memory, experience interactions so and so…our inner and the outer world. Consciousness is the screen on which all the pictures come and go. The screen is real, the pictures are mere shadows on it.
Is Consciousness the product of the environment or habit or race or training or education?
No. Though all these factors can influence Consciousness, they do not cause it.
Levels of consciousness:
- The state of waking consciousness
- Deep sleep
- Dreaming
- Transcendental consciousness
- Cosmic consciousness
- God consciousness
- Unity consciousness
The first three states are known to every adult human being with a functional nervous system.
The fourth state of consciousness — the Pure Transcendental Consciousness — is just silence. That’s the state where the mind and the senses are completely silent, but consciousness is fully awake.
Cosmic Consciousness is GOING BEYOND THE SMALL ME: “You can also call this fifth state a ‘Witness Consciousness’ — you can say that the pure consciousness now is understood to be my real self.
A transformation takes place where everything that had previously considered to be ‘me’ is seen through and discovered to be just some phenomenal thing going on. It’s not me! My little ego that motors around and feels so important — you discover that oh, that is not what I am!”
In Unity Consciousness, myself is the Self of all. There is only one Self. There is no other.
How can we reach a higher sensitivity for our consciousness?
If you want to live a more fulfilled life, first you will have to know your potential, who you really are. Meditation is a universal spiritual wisdom and a practice found at the core of all the great religious traditions, leading from the mind to the heart. It is the methodology of the science of awareness. It is a way of simplicity, silence and stillness. It can be practiced by anyone, wherever you are on your life’s journey. It is only necessary to be clear about the practice and then to begin – and to keep on beginning. This eliminates dependence on an outer authority, the need to be affiliated with any organization and the obligation to accept a certain ideology. Once you understand the steps, you walk the walk in your own, individual way.
Let’s take a peek at how many of you actually understand the concept of higher concience ? 🙂
